I can't sleep.

Give me tips on how to get to sleep.

Find the business section in today's paper and make yourself read as much as you possibly can. I know it is hard to do, but trutst me, after about 2 minutes, you are dosing off.

Try and do something that involves the very inverse of sleep.
Sleep is hardest to attain (except when you're totally shattered) when you're trying to get it. If you're trying to stay awake, it's amazing how often you'll find your eyes drooping.
Most important tip: don't use tranquillisers - for every problem they solve, they create about 10.

Yes, but if you're trying to stay awake and try to go to sleep, if you're that tired you are going to fall asleep anyway.
