Photoshop Tips

Trying to teach myself Photoshop again. I used to use it a while back to make faces for Cricket 2002, but fell of the program since. I used it to make Christmas cards this season, but I'm realizing that there's so much in it that I don't know how to effectively use.

Is there anyone here who can give me some tips on Photoshop techniques?
