On-line Gaming - gone too far!

I don't have the story in front of me and I don't have a link for it, but I was reading in today's paper (The Courier Mail) that somebody bought some virtual land on ebay for over A$30000.

Now, I know some people get addicted and really into games, but this is taking it way too far. This guy would have to be single, because I don't know any girlfriend or wife that would allow their partner to make this kind of investment.

But that is'nt the scary thing, the scary thing is that he will actually make money from it. Apparently the guy can sell mining and other rights to his land, and charge people to visit it.

Go figure!

The color of immortality, nature and envy - you are truly a unique person. While clearly the color of nature, you also symbolize rebirth, fertility and hope in the world. On the other side of the spectrum, a natural aptitude to money with green coming to signify money and possibly even *********!

LOL. It is hard to get your head around isn't it?

Apparently you can create your own 'virtual identity' which means you can buy land and stuff - all online. I'm no expert on it, so I don't really know the ins-and-outs of the whole thing.

So is he buying some land over the net?

Or is he buying "virtual" land that doesn't exist?

Assuming it's "virtual"...how and why would people mine and stuff? How would they make money? That sounds absolutely pathetic!

I think I'll stick to CM thankyou!
