I dunno, my interest is low. I found this:

GRE Subject Tests: About the GRE Subject Tests

    And the sample question here:

GRE Revised General Test: Analyze an Issue

Can only assume the test is so broad because unis in the US have applications from widely varying backgrounds. The cynic in me is ****ted-off about the $200 fee, though.

All the opinions; of the options I'm considering, there are a couple of research groups who seem like really amazing people, lovely locations and their projects look sorta cutting-edge (industry links, etc.) but their Uni rankings are low (top-500). Compare and contrast to a couple of other places which have people who seem okay and the projects are less cutting-edge, more fundamental scientific questions, more 'academic' if you catch my drift but their rankings are through the r00f (top-50). Which would you choose?

Probably the latter but that's because "more fundamental scientific questions" is my thing more than, say, highly experimental condensed matter research.

    The latter.

Yeah, leaning that way myself. Got good things going on with a Uni in France and another one in Germany in fricken awesome locations (Lyon and Marburg) so lifestyle would rule but I'm struggling to get past their mid-400's ratings. Especially the case when I'm on the cusp on an offer of a joint-PhD with Monash/Warwick which is already placed well (69/64) but their section I'll be actually working in is top-10.

Such a tough decision-making process to go through in general. Rare in life you get opportunities like this so you don't want to balls it up.

I just saw something so mind-explodingly stupid I'm actually going to have nightmares. Friend posted this on FB:

What if natural products came with a list of ingredients?

    In response, someone said this:

"What a load of bollocks. No offense, Dave, but fruit does not have sucrose in it - sucrose is artificial - white table sugar."

This is beyond what I thought was possible. I can only conclude this person is a genius-level troll or....... well I don't even want to contemplate the alternative.

    Hahahaha.

I've heard before that "you should eat natural foods because organic food doesn't have DNA. Eating DNA can cause cancer."

    arXiv vs. snarXiv

Interested in Spark's score. <80%, time to change careers into engineering.
