It is sad how news from areas like Africa gets ignored compared to news from the west. If this was happening in a western country it would be huge.

Ebola is a terrible disease and extremely deadly. It preys upon those who help, nurses, doctors, carers who show love to the sick.

Ebola is what nightmares are made of. Sounds like more needs to be done to try contain this outbreak.

The problem is treating without spreading, and disposal of bodies without spreading. It's extremely hazardous. Even in industrialized countries with all the best equipment, people who cared for these patients still managed to contract the disease. So you can imagine in low resource settings - even if everyone did everything right, it's still going to spread.

There is also armed conflict in the area of this ebola outbreak. This has made treating and taking the necessary precautions to stop the spread very difficult. It has also meant a lot of people are fleeing the area and heading into Uganda. Fortunately Uganda seem like they are well prepared and even though there has recently been a family who were infected cross the border I don't think it will spread too far in Uganda. The main danger of the situation getting much worse seems to be if it gets out of the area of the DRC it is currently in and spreads through out the country. Then it might cross the border into other countries.
