Kimmel's only good work is the Halloween candy thing. Love it and look forward to it every year.

Side note - I find Conan, Fallon, and Norton somewhat enjoyable. Although that's most likely because they seem to avoid politics more than the others - at least from my experience.

Kimmell and Noah are the worst because they were genuinely problematic people only a few years ago (Kimmel hosted the man show and Noah made ridiculous comments about aboriginal women) so it makes their preaching hypocritical but more just cringe. Like I'm less offensive than you so why are you lecturing me on this stuff

I like Oliver, Fallon and Maher for different reasons, but Conan's the best

Conan is easily the best. The rest are just annoying. Fallon's "I'm going to laugh before the punchline" schtick that he's done forever that makes him endearing to some is just so ****ing annoying I can't believe he's ever been successful.

Fallon is only good at impressions, he's not really funny, but he's harmless and a nice guy. Not preachy either which is a plus

And to think Australia thought having just Rove McManus was too much.

Back in South Africa he was universally loved for his stand-up - no other South African was worthy of tying his shoelaces in terms of popularity, and his comedy was enjoyed across virtually every possible demographic.

Since he moved overseas, however, he has transformed into an unfunny, scripted, politically-biased chump - which is the complete opposite of his original style.

In the past his entire shtick was that he ripped into anybody and everybody within the South African community. He was able to do this because he had one white and one black parent, meaning that he had a proverbial egg in both baskets.

His comedy simply doesn't translate to America - particularly given the current, polarising political climate.
Yeah I love his Saffa comedy. His Zuma stuff was always hilarious.

Pretty much all these guys suffer from the late night show format more than being untalented individuals. The exception to that might be Corden, who I don't think is untalented (musically he's not terrible, and he seems to have been a decent enough writer) but is probably more orientated to a scripted onscreen skillset.

Fallon and Kimmel have massive natural charisma, and most of the others before they got the gig were wickedly funny.

Late night TV itself is just bloated, repetitive, slightly mean-spirited, super duper Americanised trash.*

*except Graham Norton, bless that man

Conan genuinely makes me laugh out loud on occasion, although to be fair I just watch excerpts on Youtube rather than the whole show. His Conan Without Borders episodes were stupidity personified but thoroughly enjoyable stupidity.

Fallon laughing at EVERYTHING really annoys me (even though he has history for that on SNL).

Conan possibly has the best mind for comedy of the lot. I mean he was a writer for golden era Simpsons. Man's clearly part deity.

Despite this he's still pretty bad as a late night talk show host. Maybe proves your point about the format.

Haha to this day I cannot help but think "only I may dance" every time I see his name mentioned.

Edit: Oops, meant to reply to Athlai, but my comments stands.

    Meyers is unfunny.

Colbert is damn irritating. He's easily the worst.

Noah has class, and he's funny when he has good content - which isn't very often.
