Are you more politically informed than your parents?

Not speaking about ideology, more about knowledge of national politics including political history of the last 50 years, current affairs etc.

More than my mother, less than my father.

Same here. Domestic UK politics, along with classical music and the Beatles is one of the things sledger Snr knows loads about. Though most of his political expressions these days are him moaning about Blair and talking about how Harold Wilson was one of the most influential PMs ever. He's obviously moved on from the 90s where he used to vent endlessly about Thatcher.

More than my mother. Less than my father locally, more than my father internationally. But local politics is pretty simple... we have a wannbe dictator who is screwing the country, a whole lot of hangers on. And sadly no real strong alternate political goverment.

More than mother, less than father for me too. My mum is a sort of personal brand of far left. My dad has worked with most NI politicians on various pieces of legislation so knows more than I ever will. But we do see the world in very similar ways.

Endlessly venting about Thatcher was the greatest waste of time in my life - limiting it to ten minutes at a time like I do these days is much more sensible

Definitely more than Mum (best described as an apolitical hippy), probably a bit less than Dad. He's always come across as very knowledgeable but we don't talk about it too much so it's hard to really gauge. It's pretty low on his scale of importance.

Depends on what you mean by "informed". On day-to-day stuff, sure, on the things that serious matter, no, and probably never will.

My Dad is very well informed on facts, however he often loves to stretch them to fit his own little conspiracy theories especially when it comes to Indian politics. Hates Modi with a passion.

Much more informed than my mother.

Hard to say with my father. I know more about different political theories and ideologies, but he knows more about the nitty-gritty politics in terms of parliamentarians, political history, current affairs etc. He reads mainstream papers religiously and watches five hours of news programmes every day, plus whatever they'll show him on the History Channel about WWII, while I'm more likely to read a 50 year old book about someone's more general ideas or listen to an internet podcast from an overseas radical. We have very different sorts of political knowledge, but I think it'd probably be close to a wash overall.

Fathers know more about the process I think. How things get done.
