China is seriously not going to break with half a century of absolute party doctrine and the foundational principle of their foreign policy just to meddle in a mess of a civil war that frankly does not really matter to them. Not least because it would give the Americans a tailor-made excuse to be far more assertive in the part of the world that they do actually care about.

Wow that's a lot of bs. No surprise that Netanyahu twists history the way it suits him to gain political score and God knows what else. The final solution was from Hitler's brain and it began before Mufti met Hitler. Mufti was himself shady with his stances and anti semetic but he was not the reason that holocaust happened. Bibi's comments are partially true that Hitler did not want to exterminate Jews in the first place, he wanted to deport them; but when other countries refused to accept then the final solution started to surface or the whole plan existed in Hitler's mind from the very beginning which is up for debate but it's ridiculous to blame this on Mufti

In another segment, Mr Blair is asked whether the war provoked the growth of Isis, the group which now controls swathes of Iraq and Syria and which is being hit with air strikes from a US-led coalition that includes the UK.

“I think there are elements of truth in that,” Mr Blair said. “Of course, you can’t say those of us who removed Saddam in 2003 bear no responsibility for the situation in 2015.

Tony Blair apologises for 'mistakes' over Iraq War and admits 'elements of truth' to view that invasion helped rise of Isis | People | News | The Independent

Russia deployed OMON few days back. Not sure about the validity of the news though. It's a real mess. Who will OMON fight? Rebels or ISIS? Or both.

It's a good thing the leaders of the two countries in question are known for their calmness and stability...

I don't think Russia are going to respond too strongly. They're under plenty of scrutiny as it is. Words will be said and a grudge may be formed, and there quite possibly will be sanctions, but I doubt anything serious will come of this at the moment.

    Article V though.

I mean, both sides are merrily framing this in terms of NATO already...
