I suggest you look at the methodology of how they ascertain whether someone is unemployed or not. You are aware if they're on the unemployment list for long enough, they remove them from the data right?

I need to do a few things now, so i'll let you google that one Bahnz. Try something like "US unemployment rate real?" or "US unemployment rate method", you may find it interesting. Cheers.

    Oh God.

Universally, and I mean universally, you know what the biggest obstacle to successful business is?

**** management. Not government obstructionism. Not trade unions. Not having to pay decent pensions or health care to their employees. **** management. Small business people are, sadly, like farmers and taxi drivers. You never meet a happy one, business is always **** and its never, ever their own fault.

As for health care, well afaic Obama Care doesn't go far enough, and if someone doesn't believe in universal health care, then I kind of think of them as less than human tbh. It's such a no-brainer it shouldn't even be a debate.

Do you think Obama has altered the methodology by which the government departments measure unemployment rates in order to make himself look better?

Yes, that's called the participation rate which I mentioned in my original post qualifying the decline in the unemployment rate.

If you want to look at how Obama shapes up when compared his predecessor in terms of a more holistic figure - W oversaw the biggest drop in the employment-population ratio since the great depression. Obama has overseen a steady, but modest, improvement that compares favourably with the EU and is on par with the overall OECD.

i mean I do think less of the US but that's mainly because of the whole "incredible amount of people dying from guns and the prez cant do jack because their system is stuck in the 1790's" thing

whoops we're now talking about whether the prez is to blame for the economy, which is always a tricky thing given they don't operate under a planned economy (yet!)
