Oh they do that everywhere in the world, not just the US. They do that in NZ too. Not sure if they do that in the UK or not. A lot of them choose to do it for the money. They get to sleep in between patients and get paid very handsomely.

Mainly talking about nursing, in any case. Have heard from multiple sources that working for the NHS is horrible. One colleague said that it's pretty much accepted that people will go home with a pressure injury because there just aren't enough nurses to do basic care.

I'm not really making a comment on systems or anything. I don't know which systems are the best but I do know that I would really struggle to work in a place where you can't even do the basics of your job well. That would feel terrible.

Yeah I get that. For medicine in the US though, there’s often no sleep (depending on your specialty), and you’re expected to work 80 hours per week including 30 hour shifts multiple times per week (and it’s not extra pay). After you’re done training, the pay at that point tends to be higher than in most countries (for most specialties, not all).

And yes absolutely, I get your point about nursing. There isn’t anything that’s quite as unsafe as poor nurse staffing ratios.

There is nothing at all remarkable in a guy campaigning on being the moderate democrat voice, saying that having voices on both sides of the aisle helps the overall conversation.

It's a rubbish opinion because America is so far right in general, but the sentiment is one that should hold true in most democracies.

The purity test of uh, not reaching across the aisle to people who literally would destroy the country for a few bucks.
