Only issue is that surely Bolton was hired because there was no-one better who would actually be prepared to work for Trump?

More likely he thought he was hiring Michael Bolton and only just realised his mistake.

One of the greatest things Trump has done so far is firing Bolton. Only really ruined by the fact he hired him in the first place I suppose.

Bolton is saying he came to Trump a day ago to resign. I gave credit too soon. Either way though, good riddance. Unless Erik Prince or someone comes in, this should still be an improvement

And smalishah's avatar is the most classy one by far Jan certainly echoes the sentiments of CW

Yeah we don't crap in the first world; most of us would actually have no idea what that was emanating from Ajmal's backside. Why isn't it roses and rainbows like what happens here? PEWS's retort to Ganeshran on Daemon's picture depicting Ajmal's excreta

Nah. If Carlson endorses someone with more experience then Trump will give it a lot of weight though.

Rand Paul could be uncharacteristically relevant in thisgiven the stink he kicked up about Bolton's nomination in the first place, too. Trump might give some weight to his thoughts given how the Bolton thing worked out and the fact that he was the only one in his inner circle who tried to warn him against it.

Since when has Rand Paul been in Trump's inner circle?

Since he sold out to get there, more or less.

"Outer circle" might be more appropriate but none of the 40 or so people he's willing to listen to had anything bad to say about Bolton other than him.
