While this is generally true, nobody on the Left anywhere in the world can dispute that Bernie Sanders firmly belongs there.

He and the rest of the Lib Dem candidates (stupidly) signed pledges promising "to vote against any increase in tuition fees", so there's not really any escape.

There are LOTS of people in the middle who are just not as noisy as the wingnuts. I am one of them. We neither want a clueless but self-declared breaker of the status quo, nor a raging revolution seeker. I'll take quiet and acceptable competence or slight incompetence for four years. This is an election where the Dems need to do the obvious and not get too cute or clever.

My bottom line: While my preferred candidate is Biden, I'll vote for the candidate who comes through the D primaries. I can at least negotiate with Warren/Sanders. That's impossible with the Trump-McConnell cabal.

It’s really well researched but presented in as simple a manner as possible. The guy also speaks in this comfortingly monotone analytical voice without using rhetoric or emotion to make his case. It’s great insight porn.

Fair warning: the guy is a self-admitted socialist and can be aggravatingly propogandist (self-admitted again) and lacking in nuance in the bits and pieces that he discusses socialism, considering the level of rigour and intelligence he applies in his critique of conservatism.

Really enjoying his videos btw. Good recommendation.

The two staff members who were guarding the jail unit where Jeffrey Epstein apparently killed himself fell asleep, failed to check on him for about three hours and falsified records to cover up their mistake, according to several law enforcement and prison officials with knowledge of the matter.
Those disclosures came on Tuesday as the two employees were placed on administrative leave and the warden of the jail, the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Manhattan, was temporarily reassigned, pending the outcome of the investigation into Mr. Epstein’s death, the Justice Department announced.

The two staff members in the special housing unit where Mr. Epstein was held — 9 South — falsely recorded in a log that they had checked on the financier, who was facing *** trafficking charges, every 30 minutes, as was required, two of the officials said. Such false entries in an official log could constitute a federal crime.

In fact, the two people guarding Mr. Epstein had been asleep for some or all of the three hours, three of the officials said.
So basically the grim irony here is that Epstein really was being treated just like anyone else in the criminal justice system in Ameirca: if you're "inside", you might as well not be fully human any more.

True, I guess there's a bit of a difference between saying "these are our policies if we get elected" and actually specifically pledging to vote against something, even more so when you're shooting for minor coalition partner at best.

They where stupid for signing that pledge. And anybody voting for them thinking that pledge had any hope of holding up was well...

Pretty bleak reading for Trump from Fox polls.

Advisers can advise him as much as possible, but until Trump admits to himself he was blessed to run against a horror in 2016 coming of a two term Dem president he is ****ed.

Recession before 2020 and he will be massacred.

Recession will be about 20 minutes after Biden is sworn in.

The stock market has been declining for a few weeks. The tech stocks have been going down steadily.

I'm guessing back tracking on CO2 reductions would have an impact too. Lowering input costs is going to raise productivity in the short term.

Oh no, I agree that tax cuts and investment cause "growth", it's just that whatever number growth or the Dow represents means nothing to people who can barely afford to pay rent after working two jobs. Same thing happened under Obama and I hate it when people use the stockmarket to try and claim he managed the economy well.
