Biden would be an absolutely disastrous choice imo. Sanders not a lot better in many ways.

Would go for Beto if I were a Democrat.

Beto looked like a serious contender during his senatorial run but his primary campaign has been absolutely embarrassing. I think he'll be the first major candidate to drop out.

I think Biden probably has the best chance of beating Trump but would be a dire president.

Of the front-runners I think I like Warren best. She's pretty clearly the most intelligent.

Truth be told though there's about three Democrats who I think are actually running a good campaign, and of them Warren's missteps seem ripe to get hit hard by Trump and also be the victim of soft misogny, Buttigieg strikes me as another Renzi-type (so while he might win I can see him doing a lot of damage overall to the party and [indirectly] country as President - and more importantly that just seems really off-putting to someone like me) and Yang still screams single-issue gadfly. Beto's definitely doing the most damage to his reputation out of the entire primary field admittedly, though the El Paso incident has him behaving more like what he was when running for Senate.

Would agree with you re: Biden's electability but he's having a lot of "old person moments" recently. He just does not seem as mentally sharp as he was, and realistically his Presidential campaign is going to have a lot of mistakes and gaffes. Shudder to see how his brain will be in 5 years time if he gets elected.

Biden is obviously the most likely person at the moment to select to beat Trump. You look at the polls and where Biden is strong on the map and Trump simply can't beat him. That clip that was posted was grim about Biden on the other page, but doubt stuff like that will matter when it comes to Joe.

Biden's base is mainly boomers and people who simply don't spend a lot of time online looking at all this stuff.

Sanders does well in Trump strongholds, but he struggles with older voters and the GOP would just call him a" commie jew".

Harris would obviously get more votes than Trump, but running votes in California is nice, but can she beat him in the rust belt? Doubtful.

Warren's weakness at the moment seems to be fear that she cant beat Trump, I seen a poll the other day where people liked her more than Joe, but crucially Joe smashed her in a poll when asked who is most likely to beat Trump.

I'd be pretty confident Sanders would beat Trump. In 2016 I thought Republican attacks would ruin him in a primary, and I might have been wrong even then, but at this stage he's just too well-known for that to have a big enough effect. You don't sink candidates with 90%+ name recognition by attacking them over stuff everyone already knows about.

What do you guys think about a Sanders v Trump (and his next iteration) future in comparison to the 2000-2016 political split?

    The Socialists vs. Racists timeline?

I don't think the Sanders part will happen really. I think this iteration of the Democratic party will be defined by its ineffective efforts to curtail Republican excesses, largely as a result of its inability to fully recognise that the Republican party is essentially an unscrupulous and evil hate group. I prefer the Sanders/Warren wing because I think they're closer to recognising the Republicans for what they are, which I think is more important than their mostly bad economic ideas which would be killed in the Senate and courts anyway. That and their foreign policy is obviously far better, and the President actually controls that a bit.

But I think Biden will probably get the nomination. My vision of the American future is a Democrat party politely and ineffectually asking a Republican boot not to stomp so hard on a Mexican face, forever.

I'm utterly perplexed about the crying from small areas of the American right and Trump regarding this upcoming The Hunt film.

Trailer below and yeah it spells out the film.

Basically rich smug liberals hunt "deplorables"......however the hero of the film seems to be one of those been hunted fighting back and kicking ass

FFS Hilary Swank from the trailer who is playing one of the elites is clearly the villain of the film..

If anything you could argue this is something that a right wing film dude would make.

    But culture wars FTW.
