Spectacularly good long read and a reminder to resist Bush’s post-Trump rehabilitation when he should clearly have been executed for human rights violations years ago.

Trump is not good for many reasons, but one of the things that make me despair the most is some of the most rotten people have been somewhat forgiven and are now resistance heroes for merely bashing Trump. Bill Kristol the most obvious one, yearns for Hailey a war monger who would be even more destructive than pretty much all recent presidents, but heh at least she would tweet nice. Max Boot, heck all the Bush team also.
Probably does not help that Trump keeps hiring dredges from the neocon era such as Bolton tbf.

Remember when the world claimed that cutting off people's heads for garbage sectarian tripe was the height of evil and could only be cured by the liberal application of high explosive? I do.

I would join the digital campaign for Bernie ****ing Sanders if he was running against Max Boot.

I'm not so sure whether this is the case tbh. I don't think the sectarian elements have much power in Saudi anymore.

    I think this is more:
    a) kill any dissident who threatens the regime full stop
    b) posture and intimidate Iran and exaggerate the Iranian threat and polarisation of the political spheres

Odd how "dissident who threatens the regime" and "Shia" so neatly overlap so often.

Feels like Christchurch is marking the start of an escalatory period, where lunatics of all stripes convince themselves they're soldiers in a religious and race war.

I know I keep harping on about this but the attempts to pin terrorist attacks on Ilhan Omar continue to be extraordinary to witness.

Biden so dominant in all polls especially since he announced. It be some effort for him to blow it, probably the safest choice out of all Dems to beat Trump. Bernie maybe to radical for some and Harris to much of a coastal elite. I don't think Mayor Pete is all that, his base seems to be upper class white liberals and **** all else. LOL at Beto though. He's in it to win man.

One of my closest friends in the US is a Gillibrand campaign volunteer which means I see a lot more of her material than I otherwise would. It's literally the most generic modern left-wing campaign you could imagine.

Well yeah, this has been painfully obvious to many of us for some time now.

Sanity has prevailed, he's confirmed as running and is immediately leading all the early polling I've seen.. (in fact I think he's was leading most even before making his run official). I don't even think he needs to be all that far left of trump either, and the only way he could screw it up is going AOC-left, but surely he's too smart for that.
