Well no but we heard all about a couple of Neo Nazis getting married.

    Apparently that's news.

That was a dig at our most sacred of institutions more than anything else tbh.

I read that too. Good article tbh. Kind of thing you usually read about Muslims and how and where they were radicalised, except these were white Christians who happen to be NAZIs.

There are lots of amusingly wrong things about this article, but ultimately the fact that an article about the ATA being funded by the Koch brothers managed to get both the name of the ATA and the name of one of the Koch brothers wrong probably made me chuckle the most.

The Koch Brothers are trafficking in Dark Money, but I'm sure Soros is just a big hearted philanthropist.

If we learnt anything from the election, it's that our voting population is now made up of at least 51% dumb ****s, and we can no longer laugh at the UK or the US. The fact that Clive can borrow Trump's slogan and actually be successful, and you can basically be useless for 6 years and get voted back in says it all.

Laughing wholeheartedly at these raids on journos. They've willfully ignored the politicization of the AFP over the past six years and have been only too happy to cop leaks over raids on unions, and been happy enough when the likes of Slipper and Thomson go down over a few grand while the same Keystone Cops let blokes off who actually confess to illegal leaks, and when they exonerate govt ministers in a heartbeat.

Now they come after the press, and the gallery is all "How very dare you. We're sacred." **** off and get in the bin.If you'd done your ****ing jobs properly to begin with, it would never have got to this point.

Huh? Clive spent close to $60m and didn't pick up a seat in either house. That's successful?

I think Clive's game was more about opening up the Galilee Basin rather than jag a Senate seat tbh.

The whole thing prompted me to re-read the Afghanistan piece. It's interesting. I don't know that it's necessarily the most damning indictment of an armed forces you can imagine (complaining about a "warrior culture" is particularly lol), but there's at least what looks like some allegedly dire behaviour being uncovered.

It just amazes me that the angle seems to be "are our "defence" forces abiding by laws/guidelines?" and not "what the **** are we even doing there?"

Yeah, though I think the stories about whether we should be there were probably done years ago. Am no hawk, but frankly had no problem going into Afghanistan. I did with Iraq though.

Still think one of our real problems is thee same as the yanks have - if you wear a uniform youíre considered beyond reproach and automatically worthy of being revered. Itís bullshit. You donít get a halo when you get a uniform.
