I genuinely dunno where they go from here. Donít see a viable option because no matter who they install, the policy settings wonít change and itís those people hate.

An election wipeout will be the best medicine perhaps. The 'base' are still convinced that they are going to lose because they aren't holding firmer to all of the unpopular policies. It's lunacy, but I don't think they will see the light until they get some time in opposition.

Might mean the proposed Loftus Stadium gets some extra use though...

(Seriously this has to be one of the more braindead development proposals I've come across. And I don't think that's just NIMBYism.)

My wife and I voted at different times today and went to the 2 major booths on the Gold Coast

Literally no representation from any party other than LNP

    WTF?

Ridiculous thing is that very few people seem to know who to vote for as both major parties are completely incompetent in Queensland

The fall in the LNP primary is pretty brutal in some of these swings

It just means we'll get to enjoy him back in the Senate after the next federal election.

Turnbull is finished, they'll put in a conservative to hopefully save some of the furniture like the ALP with Rudd

Their usual friends in talkback have been calling for protest votes against the libs for a long time and the numbers are coming through we've seen 7% go to ONP, a similar trend is likely at the federal level. It's beyond MT's control to govern a party where most of it's grassroots members don't believe they have similar political outlooks.

Time for Kevin Rudd to return. He can steer the ship back on course and prevent Australia becoming a mere Chinese vassal state.
