First time commenting in the politics thread (probably a mistake....)

    3.25/-0.26

Funny thing is I did this quiz only six or so months ago and got -2.10/-0.80, and I'm dead sure my views haven't changed in that time. The questions are pretty poorly worded and the ranking of the political parties and figures is so far out it ain't even funny.

the I side with gadget now has a "political themes" thing, for those of you who complain that two axes aren't enough, and/or would like to be profiled by a massive Big Data operation

Think you might need an edit

Have seen the things you're referring to, mind.

edited, I should probably note those opinions are definitely NSFW

(i'm now wondering who the hell thought "take this image that the user has pasted, encrypt it with base64, then convert it to extended-ASCII" was any good as a use case)

What does the statement "This theme is more important to you" signify? Are there more potential scales that don't get represented?

Possibly! I think each question is linked with a theme, and the algorithm adds up and subtracts the ones you've ticked the most of. A sum of preferences kind of thing.

That's actually a pretty good timing. Took me about 6 years. You could be the next Hitler.

Examples? I can't think of any cases where my job made me change my opinion.

I imagine most people shrug off utopian socialist fairy tale delusions after entering the so-called "real world" tbh.

It depends where they're coming from tbh. The ones who stick around tend to be less motivated by dreams of utopia and more a burning sense of percieved injustice; if anything that only gets more intense when they enter the daily grind.

Haha yeah I experienced a bit of both. I'm certainly no more right-wing than I was.

On one hand, you see the negative externalities to tax really clearly. The university's additional teaching options are pretty severely restricted, because nobody will take the extra hours when the government gets 40%. Obviously there'd be a major social benefit, and because the classes don't even happen, the government doesn't even get any revenue.

OTOH, you get very direct experience of the fact that executive pay levels are total ****ing bullshit.
