    I'm not sure if you can trade between emulators.

    Emerald etc is just the next generation of pokemon. Mudkips etc. Plus they update these versions (red and blue were updated by gold/silver etc).

    Go onto perfectly legal torrenting websites *cough* like a bay with pirates in it and search for one with VisualBoyAdvance. I can't remember or find the exact torrent I used sorry mate.

    **BUT** Be very careful with your saves on some of the GBA games like FireRed. Save in game whenever possible because using save states (clicking file, save etc) means you won't be able to proceed after the Elite Four (guess who didn't know this).     Oh no, of course not. Just hadn't seen anyone be warned for it in the past so, although I understood it's not exactly pleasant, I thought it was tolerated.
    Perfectly understandable course of action to try and stop it though, agreed :D
