    Cricket Journalism

Hey, I'm not sure if this is the right area to put this. But; I'm 15 years of age and I'm really interested in a career in journalism and more specifically cricket journalism. I've done 10 days of work experience which I really enjoyed and confirmed my aspirations. Is there any cricket...

    VVS Laxman vs Mark Waugh

I agree Laxman's a better test batsman. He always seems to score bags of runs against the Aussies. The reason I voted for Mark Waugh was because he's a more all round cricketer. If it was a judge of test batting Laxman gets it for me.

    Cricket Books

Another I forgot to put on there was Alec Stewarts autobiography is quite good. There isn't another Shane Warne type book on the market eg. from an Aussie playing in this current era. There's been a few Atherton style books from guys like Stewart. But I'm not putting it down at all its a...

    Bedroom cricket

What I sometimes do is use a table tennis ball and a miniature autograph bat and play on a hard floor somewhere in the house. Be careful that you don't hit it too hard as the table tennis balls will snap and have dents in them.

    Stephen Fleming v Ricky Ponting

A very difficult decision, obviously like you said Ponting has won more but has a better side. Fleming hasn't really won anything but is playing with a weaker side. It's very difficult to compare captains when the ability of the sides their captain are of such different ability.

You call that a battle?! This is a battle! Angus Fraser v Darren Gough

I agree it is a difficult one to choose. For me though Fraser is just slightly ahead. He was a real work horse bowler and fairly big injuries denied him being one of the world's best bowlers and taking over 300 wickets. Instead he managed 177. Gough was the better death bowler in the ODI's and...

    VVS Laxman vs Mark Waugh

I chose Waugh slightly over Laxman for the following reasons; Although Laxman might of just been the better test batsman Waugh was the better one day batsman capable of destroying attacks early on when he opened the batting. He was also a brilliant slip fielder and his bowling at the start of...

    Cricket Books

In terms of autobiographies then there’s 3 which really stand out. 1. Shane Warne My Illustrated Career For me probably the best cricket autobiography I've ever read. 2. Shane Warne: My Autobiography Again another great book. 3. Michael Atherton: Opening Up Just behind the other two; he...

    Graeme Hick V Mark Ramprakash

I think technically Hick didn't have the answers to world class bowlers.

    Graeme Hick V Mark Ramprakash

Sorry I didn't realise that this was the best test batsman thread. Neither Hick or Ramprakash did anything in test cricket. Hick was given far to many opportunities to perform; Ramprakash has been a consistently high scorer in domestic cricket but like Hick hasn't transferred it to the test...

    Ricky Ponting v Sachin Tendulkar

Without a doubt Tendulkar is the best out of those three. He separates himself from them in the way that he can turn a match single handed Ely with his audacious stroke play and his timing is perfect. He's a different player to Ponting; Tendulkar has opened, gone at 3 and now bats at, with each...
