Haha yeah, and I have not posted in a while either... World cup brings me back.

India should win but Australia has enough match-winners that it's not a foregone conclusion. They also just seem to have a nack of winning these big tournaments. Warner, Head, Maxwell, Marsh with the bat can be very dangerous, etc.

    Ponting vs Sangakkara

I would say even. Ponting's best was probably better and he was probably more damaging though. Sanga was more consistent over the length of his career.

    2nd Semi Final - Australia v India (26th March)

Agreed unless they are 5/60 or something and need to re-build. But I think they have the best hitting power in the middle order. India are a genuine chance though if Australia don't play to their best. Hopefully it comes down to the last ball

    MOTS contenders

If we're talking ODI's then Watson has nearly 6000 runs at an average of 40.7 and a strike rate of 90. He also has 166 wickets at 31 each. Those figures are a pretty good achievement. Not to mention he played very well in the last World Cup Australia won.

Sir Viv voted the Greatest ODI Player

I'm talking about total ODI matches between all teams. Please read more carefully I might be mistaken but I think the total number of ODI matches staged in India would be more than in Australia or any other country at least in the last 10 years. I didn't come here for an argument mate so if...

Sir Viv voted the Greatest ODI Player

Drop the patronising tone mate. I've not said anything negative towards you. What I meant was there are more ODI's played in India than any other country - and yes India do play in most of them and they also play the most ODI's overall hence why they where the best example.

No problems with that.. I too rate Aravinda much higher than stats alone would indicate.

I said India because they play more there than anywhere else.

    2nd Quarter Final - India v Bangladesh (19th March)

Good score but Bangladesh will feel they are a chance.. India's pace attached looks improved since the tri-series but I still have my doubts about them so will be interesting.

Sir Viv voted the Greatest ODI Player

I think that's a bit silly as Warne was probably not an OTG ODI player, mainly because he didn't play enough games. Having said that the argument is still very valid, as a player you play for the big games and the big moments, those are the are a true test of your skill and the ones that matter...

Sir Viv voted the Greatest ODI Player

It's too easy to look at the stats of modern day players and say they are better than past generations (Batters mainly). The game has changed and batting is much easier now. Kohli is one such player, he will probably go down as an all time great ODI batsman and rightly so but I would not rate...

I would not have Dhoni in the list personally but the others I agree with.

This should be a very good match. Looking forward to it. Would like to see Shakib make some runs
