***Official*** First Semi-Final: Australia vs. England

Ponting has been brilliant in this game with his bowling changes, he has turned the game around with some inspiring captaincy. One of the true greats of the game.

Err what?

Bringing Hopes on during the first 10 was certainly inspiring. Just been inept batting amidst regulation stuff. Simple.

Huh, just got back from my meeting. Looks like we're doing well. 8-)

Watto still being very good... 19 wickets in 10 innings @ 18.1 since he got back bowling. We really miss Freddie.

Haury doing an ok job of bowling tight, but its not exactly Tendulkar and Lara he's bowling to. A wicket would be nice.

While I have enjoyed the positive approach England have taken into this game, they seem unable to find the right balance between aggression and sensible cricket. Still with wickets falling we seemed intent on still trying to maintain a high run rate, at times that can result in a big total, and this pitch suggests there are few demons in it, however, shot selection could have been much better in establishing a foothold in this semi. Now we are just playing catch up cricket due to the fact we have lost too many wickets too early, and it is being left to Luke Wright and Tim Bresnan to attempt to resurrect the innings with canny cricket during the middle stages of this innings. Ideally these guys would have been coming to the crease to express thereselves in a more positive fashion, but as it is, they need to build a score for England and basically do the batsmen's job for them.

Starting to look disturbing respectable for the Poms now. Looks like both Bresnan and Wright will get their 50s up soon...

Awesome blows from Wright, but you have to question why he's trying to clear deep midwicket with a batting powerplay in hand.

Haha, this is getting ridiculous. It's like the Ashes all over again with England's lower order slogging them out of a hole.
