Would be a disaster for one day cricket.
The English press would conclude that, as England are crap at ODIs but managed to win the tournament, therefore the tournament and ODIs are also crap.

Redmond's really a shockingly bad pick as a replacement, but I still think he should play now and he's clearly a better bet as a batsman than the spare bowlers and Hopkins. Given there are already five frontline bowlers + Elliott playing, I don't think any value will be gained from another bowler.

Good to know that Butler is available for selection according to the NZ herald. Cricinfo was saying he might not be - which would have left Diamanti as the only available option to bowl first change.

Maybe because this year in 7 ODIs his figures are - 3 wickets at 100.00 econ 5.45 s/r 44.26 and his ODI average has been moving upwards from 18.00 and now is 35.59. He hasn't managed to get any top 5 batsmen out in those 7 matches.
