The lack of wickets in the middle-overs is a cause for concern...

Pak 133/3 after 30 overs...there's a rule that it will double by the end of the innings...if they chase 266, this will be why we see seven batsmen in the Indian team. Will it come good? It's anybody's guess.

Part timer's 9 overs have gone for 42 runs. So they have more than done their job. India couldn't afford to weaken their already weak batting.

They've weakened their even weaker bowling. If they end up conceding a massive total that they can't chase, it's of no use. Now the batsmen are getting set and may smash the pacers when they come back.

FMD, Australia really shouldn't have let the Windies get this close, pretty poor effort by the bowlers. I'm not watching, but 15 wides is pretty freaking terrible, and 19 leg-byes isn't any better.

Now a late-cut by Yousuf off Pathan goes for four, with no protection at thirdman. He's being milked now.

It seems Pathan will get ten, as Harbhajan's leaking runs in the match.

key is picking up wkts in the middle overs though

if you have a weak bowling then you strengthen it up by playing an extra batsmen, similarly if you have a weak batting you strengthen it up by playing a specialist bowler. A stronger bowling builds pressure from either ends at most times, which helps restrict the opposition and thus make it easier for the batsmen. Playing an extra batsmen to strengthen a weak batting by adding another ordinary batsman to line up is not the answer.

Now Pathan's economy is over five with two boundaries in that over. That, coupled with three dreadful Kohli overs, takes the economy of the part-timers close to six, and guess what, no wickets. How much will it cost the Indians? The answer is in the final overs bowling and the Indians' batting effort.

Bowling a bit disappointing, stopped watching a few hours back but seems like they were tailor made conditions for them.

1 too many from Pathan!
He gets a wicket nearly every time he comes on to bowl. They kept the runs down, so maybe they expected a wicket. That now takes the load of Raina fully. Besides, some bowlers have gone for plenty and need to be cut out of a few overs.

Meanwhile MoYo reaches his 50 .... Now he will be looking to open up. It's time to pick him up

Nah don't agree with Arjun or ret. India has a weak batting line up with the likes of Sehwag, Yuvraj missing, not a weak bowling line up. Pakistan isn't going to make much more than 260. It is questionable whether the batsmen can get those runs. The bowlers would have done a fair job to restrict Pakistan to around 260 when every one was predicting they would get 280-300 or even 300+.

I wouldnt blame Dhoni for trying Pathan for 1 more over but he should have stick to his frontline 4 for their full quotas!

Malik gets his 50 now .... thanks to part-timers helping these guys in settling down

Now Malik creamed Ishant for four with a cut. They're in a comfort zone now.

If only Dhoni brought on the part-timers in the late overs more often just so that they're aware of how tough it is for the bowlers...

If they keep scoring 7-8 an over from here on, they would post a very much respectable 290...

If Sachin plays well, we could achieve it easily, if he gets out early - even 260 will look mammoth!

Doesn't matter now, what's done is done .... Ind has to focus on picking up wkts
