That's because of the selectors messing around with players like Blackwell.

Now they've just got the Test side with a few changes (what it should be) we're doing well. There are very few good ODI specialists.
Bingo, Tom.

What England have done this season is try to find out who their best PLAYERS are, not best test players or best ODI players.

It's a refreshing change and means that the days of selecting four specialist 'bat a bit, bowl a bit' merchants, hopefully, are in the past.

I'm going for England 100%. What England really have to their advantage, I think, is they know that they can win without a major contribution from Flintoff, as they showed against Australia on Tuesday.

Speaking of which, the amount of garbage that Ricky Ponting and John Buchanan were spouting about England was really starting to get to me. I'm glad that an emphatic win shut them up. All the "England haven't played against any decent opposition", "they're really not so great" etc was a trifle annoying. And now Ponting goes into damage control saying that England are a good side and he hopes they win!

I'm all for professional sportsmen being able to use their mouths, but for dignity's sake I hope Ponting learns how to control it.

Rant aside, about the actual England side, I have to say I'm disappointed with Alex Wharf. I think James Anderson would be much better.

Go England!

Whatever it takes!!!
I want the Windies to win simply because I don't see how they can win any major test series with this side and therefore, I think this match presents them their best chance of getting noticed on the world stage. England, though, have the stronger team. But the reason I want Windies to win more than England is that England are an excellent test side and may even surprise the Aussies at the Ashes while Windies are nowhere near that sort of quality in tests and hence the ODIs present a better opportunity for them.

But either way, these are the teams I like the most (apart from India) and I really don't mind either of them winning this.

As long as England don't play like Henman... May as well have a guess at how many Solanki is gonna survive before the inevitable happens, I'll go for 10.2 overs.

I'd settle for that - he'd be close to his 50 :D

Toss Shouldn't be that much of a factor, but the history of the ground says WI win. Its a good test of England's abilities. Should take spin later on.

I just hope if Trescothick gets in he doesn't do his usual getting-caught-out-to-the-crappy-spinner-to-one-of-the-only-2-men-in-the-deep whilst trying to 'exploit' the 15 over restrictions.

"Bradshaw’s fine spell earned him further reward as Michael Vaughan tried to cut a ball that appeared to keep low and nip back a little. Instead of the regulation single to third man, it only brought the rattle of disturbed timber and the England skipper’s early demise for a disappointing 7"

decent start for England I think, 63-2 off 15 overs with the lessers of the top 4 out. Pitch seems to be doing a bit of everything.

Yup - Crystal 'Oops' Gayle got one to go sideways, but slowly. Plenty of seam, some pace (well, that remains to be seen when anyone of pace comes to bowl on it), indifferent bounce.

I might well add 'tomorrow' to that. Weather's moving in from the north - absolutely pouring down here now.
