Well, there were some interesting predictions here!
West Indies will beat England in the final? Don't be silly! Not a chance! No way! Never!

Richard is careful never to predict, but then just says he thought that after the event.

I left it to "I'm hoping for an England-South Africa final, with England winning in the way West Indies won".
Hopes do fine for me - cricket is too unpredictable to predict.

Which is why some people predicted it right.

And I seem to remember a certain member somewhat controversially tipping WI as a good bet about a month before the competition started.

All controversial tips will prevail in the end - if you keep making them.
I mean, if you keep claiming "Bangladesh will win this match" you'll be right in the end.

England certainly don't deserve to win it and if they were to it would do far more harm than good for the long-term IMO, because it would not merely paper over cracks but board them up.
