The ruthlessness of Steve Waugh's Australia

In 2001, Australia were at their peak.
They scored at 4+ runs per over.
They were remorseless in the field, and denied their fans any opportunity to get frustrated.
They simply did not drop catches.

And McGrath appeared to generate extra bounce even on the flattest pitches of all time.

They had world class players like Ponting/Gilchrist/Warne/McGrath

Amazing team. The only thing close to it I’ve seen is Ben Stoke’s England.

The Aus team v prime WI would have been a super watch.
Stoke's Eng would get beaten by both sides.
Stokes's England would kill West Indies, what are a bunch of 120-130 kmph trundlers from amateur era doing? /s

The tedious win-only mentality of Waugh and then Ponting's Australia set in motion the decline of test cricket that has only just been reversed thanks to Stokes's England.
