Imagine he surpasses Tendulkar's run count but still ends up with 0 hundreds in Australia...
I don't think he will unless he gets a few this winter.

Our last tour there he was third run scorer behind Head and Marnus. But only getting 64 runs per test. When his overall record is 84 per test.

Depending on when he plays to which if I was a betting man 2028 summer might be his end at 37. Maybe the end of 2027 if the next two Ashes and next World Cup goes well.

Then he needs to probs improve on that 84 runs a test to overtake Sachin.

KL not having a high 40s averaging career will be one of the great WTFs of modern Test cricket. That he averaged low 30s before this series an even bigger mystery. Aside from his own failings, part of it has had to do with how he's been shunted around the batting order, but when allowed to breathe, he's as complete a batsman as you can hope to get.
