2nd Test (Edgbaston) - July 2nd

If Washy is a better batsman than NKR, then he should play irrespective of who of Kuldeep or Arsedeep plays. Jadeja already occupies the allrounder slot. Hence, I will actually go with Jurel who is a better bat than both Sundar and NKR.
Jurel should play but who would he replace?

If nothing else, I'm glad for both Akashdeep and Siraj that they got reward for good bowling. Akash was desperately unlucky in Australia to the extent I was concerned he was destined to be another Pankaj Singh, and Siraj I thought bowled really well in the 1st test apart from that very first spell and generally gets a disproportionate amount of criticism because he can be a bit of a dick at times. Good to see the luck turn for them a bit.

The biggest worry about an Indian win is that Gambhir might actually think this NKR/Jadeja/Washington trio can play together in England.

Blimey, even I am astonished by the pessimism of some of the Indian posters over the last few pages.
Lads, grab a cold drink and enjoy your chaps setting a 500+target by tea. At the very latest, given how our quicks have gone so far.

EDIT
That being said, Carse has been a bit unlucky so far this morning. But England desperately need several breakthroughs before the ball gets older and conditions become less overcast.

Nair has a huge problem with that delivery. Looks like getting out to it every ball. Needs to fix it immediately or his Test career won’t last the series.
If he scores another 30-40 odd, I think he survives because he's probably one of the more secure catchers at slips

good bowling by Carse here on a flat pitch but truth be told, Nair is not an international Batsman
