2nd Test (Edgbaston) - July 2nd

Giving England 550 in 100-105 overs, gives India about 20-25 overs with the second new ball as well. The ball loses its marbles after that. But Gambhir the most defensive coach so far will be extra conservative after seeing Eng put on 300 for the 6th wicket at more than 5 an over. So he may set like 580 in 95 overs. (6 RPO)

It has to be 4 seamers or 3 seamers+Kuldeep depending on pitch. And only one of Sundar or Reddy depending on combination.

This is a matchwinning side with ten known in-form players. Yeah, longish tail and three spinners is overkill but preserving Bumrah as a strike force is vital and all those options will be handy.

At lords, three spinners are useless.

No point in 4th seamer who bowls 10 overs in a test match and isn't a top batter either

They'll probably chase 500 even if we set them that anyway. 3/5th of our attack is barely club standard.
Yeah I think England can chase anything upto 500ish on this highway with short boundaries against 3/5th club level attack. The ball also does nothing after 20ish overs. They still got 407 with large majority of their batters falling early. They not gonna fail again so expect bigger score 2nd dig.

India may fold for 200 today but regardless - this has been a disgraceful test pitch. Growing sick of these highways coupled with short boundaries. I hope Lords offers a more balanced contest.

it’s only his 3rd innings of this series but Rahul has already played more pretty drives than some players do in a career

Whatever it takes!!!
Good suggestion. But I will always go with former since 3 seamers are more than enough and a 4th seamer is most of the time useless.
Yeah the only thing is Washy is at the moment a far more dependable batsman than NKR. But this side does look good -

But we all know that Gambhir will play this attack-

7) Jadeja
8) Sundar
9) Akash
10) Siraj
11) Bumrah

Doesn't have the guts to include Kuldeep... unless the current attack gets taken apart again in the 4th inns and somehow the rigid **** comes to his senses..

If Washy is a better batsman than NKR, then he should play irrespective of who of Kuldeep or Arsedeep plays. Jadeja already occupies the allrounder slot. Hence, I will actually go with Jurel who is a better bat than both Sundar and NKR.

And yet this attack took out six guys for ducks. England can chase 500 on a flat wicket but sometimes they bat like they can't be arsed and want to get a round of golf in. India are well ahead in this game and the odds are on them winning.
