Over 128.4: James Anderson to Steve Smith: OUT! Smith finally succumbs and loses his wicket for the first time in the series here on day two at The Oval. Lofted on-drive catches a thick inside edge and a good catch taken by the substitute on the deep mid-wicket boundary. The loss of Smith's wicket leads to a declaration by Cummins, with Australia giving themselves just over three days to complete the 5-0 whitewash.

Smith: c (sub) Fatigue-Exhaustion b Anderson 264 (285)
FOW: 585/4

Aus leads England on the first innings by 528 runs, with 6 wickets in hand.
Good summary there from Cricinfo live scores.

Who is England playing next as he won't take 15 wickets in the 3 Tests he plays in Ashes 😉

Ok, all this good natured joking around at the expense of each other in the lead up is fine and all, but this just takes **** too ****ing far.
Personally can't wait until Labuschagne tears a hammy chasing in a lost cause a Brook pull skewed through cover and Harris replaces him.

Re England’s bowling in general more than Anderson in particular.

I was a bit surprised to see Robinson having a couple of overs for a real crack late in the day and whanging them down at about 76mph. I know he isn’t express but I thought he’d have cranked it up a bit for such a short spell. Seems to me they missed a trick not opening with Anderson. I know there wasn’t a lot of movement on offer but I’d have thought he was the most likely to draw a false shot out of a couple of tired openers near days’ end.

I hadn’t heard it suggested pre-series that he might bowl first change. Was it spoken of at all in the lead up?

yeah the way i see things when you get that mini-session before the close of play you get two bites of the cherry with your opening bowlers!

Obviously the thinking was to put Broad up against Warner so them it's a choice between Jimmy and Robinson.

Robinson started in the mid 80 mph which is fine but then his pace dropped off - I wonder if the fall he had, knocked him a bit.

I'd not heard any speculation that Jimmy wouldn't open the bowling - I'd have opened with him and Broad.
