Oh but pardon me Migara, Ranatunga is not even close to Dean Jones tier
Ranatunga averages 36 with the bat with SR of 78, compared to Flrming averaging 32 with SR of 72, despite starting a decade later. Adjust it to the era, and Ranatunga would be 10 points clear of Fleming with a higher average.
During his 17 year career, Arjuna was the 5th highest scorer in ODIs. Fleming just scrapes in to top 10. 1982 - 1999, Arjuna was the highest averaging batsman in SL team. Other than for Aravinda and Marvan, all his support cast averaged sub 30. Fleming during his time had five batsmen averaging more than him. It shows who had more pressure to deal with. Arjuna average 50.4 against WI and 33.9 against Australia, which were the two best sides during his career other than for his own. Fleming averaged 29.5 against Australia and 18.7 against Sri Lanka who were the best sides during his career.
Finally to round off here are ICC ranking points graph to demonstrate the gulf between them.

Ranatunga belongs to the tier of Aravinda, Azhar, Salim Malik, Martin Crowe, Richie Richardson and Dean Jones tier, the tier of flowed geniuses in ODI cricket. Fleming is no where good as him.
Edit: And with all these limitations he wend on to win a World cup, irritated Aussies to the maximum possible and mouthed off and bashed Warne around. None of them Fleming could achieve. Not only ODI batsman, Ranatunga is a better ODI captain too than Fleming.
Jones probably the best in that tier. Richardson the worst.Oh but pardon me Migara, Ranatunga is not even close to Dean Jones tier
Nah it was rice and jak fruit with plenty of wild boar did the trick.Arjuna was a gun competitor, the type of player you'd really want in your team when a tough fight was required.
Who knows how much better he could have been if he stayed in good shape. Certainly remember a few run outs that should never have been.
Unfortunately the meat pies got the better of him in the end, or was it the tomato sauce the pies were swimming in.
If there's any comparison between these 2 players you couldn't find a bigger margin when it came to running between the wickets.Oh but pardon me Migara, Ranatunga is not even close to Dean Jones tier
What's this tasty looking fruit called? Looks a bit like mango. Shame about those pips though.
Yes, while agreeing with Migara in the analysis, Jones is in the very top tier while Ranatunga is in the next one.Oh but pardon me Migara, Ranatunga is not even close to Dean Jones tier
Poor man's Durian.Jackfruit, it's extremely good
What you eat is technically irrelevant to whether you gain or lose weight. It's purely a matter of calorie balance, ie. how much you eat. What I want to know is how are you supposed to get fat eating fruit
Surely it was more of the wild boar alluded to earlier. Can picture Ranatunga chewing on a boar leg like King Henry
Decided to eat some wild boar because of this post, thank you sirWhat I want to know is how are you supposed to get fat eating fruit
Surely it was more of the wild boar alluded to earlier. Can picture Ranatunga chewing on a boar leg like King Henry
It is a ripe jakfruit. Non ripe one is a staple in Sri Lanka, ripe one is a sweet fruit. The fruit is pretty large 5-15kg usual. What's this tasty looking fruit called? Looks a bit like mango. Shame about those pips though.
Arkuna was prettygood between wickets even when he was fat. 82-93 period was one of the quickest between wickets. If there's any comparison between these 2 players you couldn't find a bigger margin when it came to running between the wickets.
Dean Jones was the greatest ever(except for Tim David) and Arjuna must be close to the worst(certainly towards the end)
Nah, its doorian without the shitty smell, and of course much larger.Poor man's Durian.
