If your 1st-string team doesn't go to the Ch Trophy, who would you replace them with?

I would take the emerging aussie academy give them some experience, they had a wonderful emerging series, and has lots of talent.
Hmm sorry mate but if you're reffering to those who played in the emerging players tournament I'd have to disagree. They did very well, thats for sure but they lost to NZ emerging players (not even an NZ A side really, though many will make it in), and lining them up against full stength ODI sides, especially top teams like India, SA, NZ and Sri Lanka, they would probably get destroyed. You have to ask the question: Can these guys match it with Murali, Steyn, Kallis, KP etc? If its a no, then you should probably just field the best team possible, not the AIS side.

Now that I've said that the AIS will go and win the tournament. :p

Trouble being that you can't really know who'd go and who wouldn't, so you can't really name a "XI of players who would go".

In any case, England First XIs in ODIs are depressing enough - the fact that a Second XI would probably be stronger (if selected by me, rather than the selectors, that is) makes it just too depressing to contemplate.
Presuming not all England players will go, how likely, in your opinion, is it that we'll get Plunkett and Mahmood is the same bowling attack? :p

Though I can't say much, I think I might cry if Chris Martin and Iain O'Brien open up for NZ in ODIs.

If according to dan cullen's attititude of the 30 man squad,we maybe sending an AIS squad or equivalent side to the trophy.
Michel deighton would be a good inclusion, wonder how playing on a UK passprt last season effects his chances.
Sajid and plunkett  drain of runs you could only afford 1 of them.

Yeah England's first team is fairly rubbish. 2nd team could be better TBH.

For Australia
1. Hughes
2. Dighton
3. Pomersbach
4. Bailey
5. Katich (c)
6. Voges
7. Hopes
8. Paine
9. McGain
10. Siddle
11. Geeves

Oh okay. Well just copy Nufan's team then.

Is Van Wyk a NZ resident now?
Not sure if its this season or the next that he becomes available. But given that McCullum seems increasingly eager to cast himself as a specialist, it honestly can't come soon enough.

Assuming the regular eleven that played against the Windies were not available, I'd go

Shaun Marsh
Phil Jaques
Michael Dighton
David Hussey
Adam Voges (c)
Luke Pomersbach
Luke Ronchi (wk)
Ashley Noffke
Aaron Heal
Brett Geeves
Ben Hilfenhaus

Marcus North unlucky.

Some of those players are in the top 30 though. I would take that squad however.

Good looking teams.
I think deighton is a real smokey out of the 30.he really was the top one day batsmen last year, unlucky not to be in the 30.
Its really hard to know where the players are at cullen gives the impression that the 30 are out as all 30 are out,but not all would feel the same.
I would be happy we send a weaker squad get a chance to blood some youngsters.

This is my 2nd XI squad out of the 30 preliminary players, i think every player who is new on the scene would find such a good opportunity too good to deny.

Could say a lot of things. Will just reflect on Hopes above Voges. (face)
