Didnt say i must know, just i was interested, if you didnt want me to know, all it took was either a polite 'i'd rather keep that to myself thank you', or just ignore the question. Wasnt exactly holding a gun to your head forcing you to answer.

Can to an extent understand why you have it set to that now, though given most people dont really look at the who's online box, and theres not many people who demand instant replies, plus no PM's for them to harrass you, so to me it doesnt really make much difference. Actually, left mine open for hours whilst i've gone out without realising, so it looks like i'm viewing OT all day, doesnt really make much difference.

Each to their own though

It's a bit of a stupid argument, as it's pretty clear who is on invisible mode, because they won't show up on the base of the main page when they post.

It's about respecting people's privacy
You can't respect privacy if there's no privacy there to respect though. There's no privacy issues involved, whatsoever, with invisible-mode. It doesn't give you any privacy you'd otherwise not have.

Why the hell did you dig this thread that had been dead for over a month up to say that? You looking for a fight?

Nope, just somehow missed it first time around. It's hardly a "dig" either, this wasn't even off the front page of this forum.

On the other hand...
A thinly veiled threat Richard? You don't have the power....and stop brown-nosing
It's neither a threat, nor a piece of brown-nosing, for the precise reason that I have no "power". It's a simple statement of fact. You are not forced to be a part of CW, it's your choice. If you want to be a part, you abide by the rules, especially when 99% of other users have no problem and in fact are very happy with said rules. If you don't want to abide by the rules, you go somewhere else. It's not complicated.
Yeah it was dire.
No more than any other statement of fact.

It's not. Naturally, some like to perceive it as such, though... especially if their friends go on about me supposedly doing it very often...

If you must know, the main reason I do it is because I'm usually logged in all day from work or home but not necessarily on the site so don't want people to think I'm there when I'm not. I'm sure this is why most people use it, if you must know. But as I said, it really isn't anyone else business whether people chose to use it or not, and for people to constantly ask about it defeats the purpose of the privacy the option is designed for
If you're "logged in" but don't actually use the site for 15 minutes, it declares you offline anyway.
