Portsmouth Pandas vs Oakham Oxes

We won he toss it looked lively early on but would get worse and to avoid batting last we go in to bat.

Lunch Day 1- 87-2 A nice start.

All out for 145.

Tea Day 1- 0-0 Very Dissapointing.

Stumps Day 1-95-0 Slow scoring from the Pandas.

Lunch Day 2 179-0 Some tight bowling from the Oxes.

Tea Day 2 327-1 A Wicket but the Pandas Strike Rate upped.

Stumps Day 2 474-3 More Wickets and a deceration pending.

508-4 Declared Now to save the game.

Lunch Day 3 53-1 Just need to bat slowly like Henderson 9 runs off 60.

Tea Day 3 122-2 Less than 80 runs but a good batted out session.

Stumps Day 3 193-4 Only 1 Day left can the Oxes batt out the day or score the more than 170 runs needed to make Portsmouth bat again?

269 all out.

Portsmouth Pandas (20pts) beat Oakham Oxes(1pt) by an innings and 94 runs.

In my first game of this "normal" season.

We score 240 first time round vs Gloucs, and they score 323 wih Samarawerra taking 6 wickets.

We scored 188 setting them 106 to win.
They knocked them off losing just 3 wickets.

Durham away next.

Hunt replaces the injured Moon.

We lose the toss and strangely end up walking out to bat on a flat wicket.

We made 241 runs, Durham scored 452 Samaraweera taking 4 wickets. We scored 200 exactly losing by an innings and 11 runs.

The Super Cup was next and we lost all our games.

We drew with the Zimbabweans with a very good tail-end defensive effort.

Next up Leics away!

Scilly Isles join the league

Having given Durham the boot, I have brought in the Scilly Isles with a team of hopeless youthes. As yet, I have drawn 3 CC games, won 1 NL game, and reached the C&G quarter-final. All other games have been lost! Top batsman so far is M Hunt with an average of 35, and T Edwards has 32 CC wickets at the halfwaystage.

Next National League Game
Scilly Isles vs. Notts

Scilly Isles Team
S Pickering RHB
N Woodward RHB
M Hunt RHB
I Supple RHB
A Beaumont LHB
G Bates RHB OS
S Bent RHB WK
T Edwards RHB RFM
A Cardew LHB LM
J Naylor RHB RFM
J Bannister RHB RM

Won toss and decided to field on a cloudy day.

Good start, 50/3 after 10 overs.
However, supporting bowlers do badly, Bannister takes 3 for 77 at 8 an over.
Edwards bowls well with 1 for 33.
Left chasing 259 to win (no chance).

Good start but top order collapse leaving Scilly Isles at 68 for 4 as best batsmen fail.
Beaumont and Bates bat well but far too slowly and with 10 overs to go 143 are needed.
Scilly Isles promptly collapse and are all out for 163.
Beaumont 42, Bates 29, Pickering 30.

A crap performance leaves Scilly I bottom of NL Div1 with 1 win from 9 games.

Terry Edwards looks quite a find but as a diehard Durham fan :p i'm shocked that you booted them out when Yorkshire are clearly far worse.

Scilly Isles: End of season 1

Began to play badly towards the end of season 1, won no CC games and just 3 NL games.
Best batsmen were:
M Hunt 37.91
N Woodward 34.47
G Bates 28.34
and in one-dayers I Supple 32.90

Best bowlers were:
T Edwards 42 wickets at 53.38 (best bowler because everyone else got thrashed in the National League, he only went for 4.5 per over)
G Bates 30 at 36.83
A Cardew 33 at 40.97
N Beasley 27 at 41.37

Came bottom of both leagues, sacked a couple of players and signed up 4 more. Hoping for progress this season.
