Eyes not spreadsheets
Spot of commentary - "misses the ball, but his shot evades the field"

Perhaps a read me explaining how long the game is etc. would be helpful for judging how to pace the innings?

Marc - I'm working on a Help file at the minute

Lord of Darkness - I know that's not changed, but download it from there and you do get the 2002 version. That page needs changing but the file is correct.

Hi Neil Pickup,

I downloaded the game now. I am very disappointed to see that I have downloaded the same file yet again. No change at all. It's the same Beach Cricket 2002 Demo.

If it has become a freeware, then why's it missing a whole lot of features which are disabled. It's also missing good help. Again, I think that you've given up updating your website. It's simply became useless (no offence meant). I really think that you should update it on a regular basis to keep us aware of the developments. How could one know what is Beach Cricket?

I sincerely hope that you'll take a good look at the shortcomings mentioned above and take definitive measures.

Regards. :D

Sorry if you seem to have missed the point, but I never onced claimed that it was at, or even close to the point of completion. At the minute it's going on/off and has been for 4 years now.

The purpose of this BETA release was for feedback on the gameplay and match 'engine' - just that section, nothing more and nothing less.

Cheers :D

The game looks good at this point of time but I'll wait till its completion to give you a complete feedback.

Thanks :D

By the way,

When are you going to come up with the final release?

Let me guess..May be after 5 to 6 years?

Just Joking (I hope you won't take that long)

Cheers guys :)

Rich - not in the forseeable future. The way it's written is for a short-length, high-action version (and I didn't fancy competing with ITC, HODI or VC4 etc), so it would need a complete working-over of the match engine (which bears about as much comparison to real cricket as Geoff Boycott does to Ricardo Powell).

I have a lot of big plans for the career mode, so keep watching, sometime by World Cup 2007 (I started this off waaay back before WC99..) :)

Anyone got any improvements/constructive criticisms?

When you play the world cup, do you have to sit in and watch all the other teams play? I dont think I have seen an option to change this.

Yeah, at the minute you do. I've experimented with a Quick Play, but that steadfastly refused to work. It actually interests me watching the other games..

Would it bother you if the CPU-CPU games were just (optionally) generated based on an algorithm of player abilities and a random button?
