International Cricket Captain General Thread of Miscellany

My specialist #11 ODI keeper. Doesn't drop much but hasn't stumped anyone yet:

I think my game glitched somehow. The other 10 players are all allrounders. Not bad ones but ones who all average 50+ with the bat an less than 20 with the ball. I just have fun with it since I am in 2037 and don't want to quit. It is an ODI only file.

Actually a lot of the teams end up like that by that stage of the game as specialist bowlers seem to go out of fashion.

Explains why I can never find decent bowlers tbh.

In ~2024 at the moment in an England save, the average age of my bowling attack is 21 because I've cycled through literally every realistic option and they all suck.

I've got the mobile app to play now and I'm addicted again. Playing with Rajasthan in FC/IPL and with option to take over Ireland eventually.

I know how to get my guys to bat well in FC games, and I've kinda figured out OD games (my team's **** atm so we don't really have any batting talent to begin with). But I don't get T20s. I've got a batting lineup of:

Rahane
Steve Smith
P Chopra (some Indian domestic dude)
AB De Villiers
Jos Butler
David Miller
Ravi Jadeja

And yet every game all they can manage is 120-140. Even got bowled out below 100 once. It's ridiculous. Smith has been scoring tons, but the rest have been borderline useless. One good innings from Butler and Copra each, and ABDV even batted out 30 balls for 5 runs in one game.

What do I do to get them to actually bat well? I've tried different orders and settings but I can't seem to crack it.

Also, is there any merit to using Custom Field sets while bowling? I tired when I just started playing, in a T20 with Rajasthan, but my side still conceded 200 odd, and from what I saw they was no noticeable difference with or without the custom fields. Gave up on it after that because it's too much effort, now wondering if I should bother again. I just end up bowling with the lowest possible aggression for ODs and T20s - maybe go up to 2 bars for a few overs if i'm looking for a wicket or have a high score - while in FC games I use the whole spectrum a lot more.

Yeah T20s are just confusing and seem to be based on nothing but luck. Never managed to figure them out.

And if batsmen are scoring slower than they should be be sure to increase their aggression early as opposed to letting them dawdle along.

Also be aware of the pitch and conditions as this can help to give a little indication as to what might be a good score.

Having a geriatric Jewish gangster as part of the bowling attack is never going to go well.
