Interesting that they are being released on the same day in a few weeks. And that Cricket Coach is cheaper than ICC. And that ICC will be on PS2 as well as PC and PSP.
Very interesting indeed, thanks for this James. I am still leaning towards Cricket Coach, have not heard anything that is going to convince me otherwise. |

Hey. To those in the knowledge...i've never played ICC and am trying to decide whether to opt for that or Cricket Coach 07. The obvious answer is to wait and see how the reviews go from you guys for both games (the fact that they are both released on the same day is a bonus), but in the mean time i thought i'd ask for some opinions as to which way i should go. Cheers

Well, having only played ICC and a demo of Cricket Coach 2006, I can say that from appearances, Cricket Coach would be a better buy. If you have a look through the forum, you will see that ICC has a 'history' of shafting their consumers. They usually just do a data update and charge you fifty bucks for it.

Yeah, i've noted the distinctly anti-ICC sentiment on these threads...however, most of the gripes come from ur point - feeling cheated from a lack of serious updates. But, for somebody fresh into the cricket gaming world (and therefore with no scars from feeling cheated) is it fair to say that ICC is a decent game? I'm an avid Champ Manager (football)player and saw how similar Cricket Coach 07 looks in appearance...this should be a good thing given the formers' success...but i feel ICC will hold the greater database of information and maybe seem more realistic (although really i have little to base this on).

Look I am a massive fan of Football Manager and ICC. When I first got ICC 2001, I loved it and it was brilliant. But my opinion on it soured when I bought ICC 2006 and it was basically the same game with a data update and minor graphical changes.
I think if Cricket Coach has the depth and the data that ICC has (and from what I have seen it seems like it) then I would buy Cricket Coach. However, you may have noticed in another thread there is a blurry screenshot of ICC using Hawk Eye technology. So maybe ICC is actually serious and going to do better updates this time. Will ICC hold a greater database of information? Well...probably not. ICC only has English county teams, and the international Test teams. They are the only teams you can manage. Cricket Coach will have state teams and national teams from all Test playing nations. By the way, I am not a shill for Cricket Coach, I am just happy someone will try and topple ICC. |

I think that theres one or two people involved in cricket coach who post on here, and i believe there (unsurprisingly) the biggest ICC critics (i may be wrong here though)
My best piece of advice is wait for the demo's. Personally my views on the 2006 games were that ICC shaded it, purely as it was the devil you knew. Cricket Coach LOOKED like it might well be the future king, but the demo engine didnt inspire me with confidence, thus i didnt buy it. New games are like that (CM/FM analogy, whenever they bring out a completely new match engine its always a bit funny for the first year) However, its a new year, i'm sure Cricket Coach is a far better model than it was, and the gameplay certainly looks far more indepth than ICC (infact found myself pining for that a bit the last few months). Personally i'm waiting for a few demo's, get a taste of playing them before buying. Got a feeling that Cricket Coach may come up trumps. If its what it looks like it could be then it'll streak ahead, however if its not quite right then ICC's experience (and in some ways its simplicity) might make it the more enjoyable game

Yeah i know that some people post on here who are involved with Cricket Coach 2007. I know I am not one of them though.
Good advice there, cpr. Waiting for the demos is a good idea, I am just wondering if they will release demos. I mean, both games are coming out in about two weeks, which doesnt leave much time. Or will they be released on the same day as the game? This is very different to a game that I am looking forward to: Fallout 3. They just released a teaser a year out from the actual game release. |

Well, a week out from the release date and there is nowebsite for ICC 2008. No demo for either of them that I can see. The Cricket Coach 2007 website has been updated, although the forum is not working still.
Pretty sloppy work from both teams. I know that they must be working hard to develop the games, but is it too hard to put up a simple website showing features and a forum? |

We're having to rethink the forum slightly as the previous one became a favourite place for spammers and porn link posters. Unfortunately we can't let that happen on a forum that is meant to be suitable for all ages. |

Just seen a previous post about game demos - a fully featured time limited demo of Cricket Coach 2007 will be available on the day of release. As with last year, you can then unlock that to remove the time limit.
The plan is for the unofficial player editor for CC07 to be available on the day of release as well. |

Yeah I heard that ICC was being released in August, but I thought that was just for the Australian release, and the UK release would still be June.
So CC07 has the jump on the competition. Fair enough too about the forum. I realise that both teams would be hard at work developing the game. Hopefully both games will turn out good. Need competition |
