Notts vs Zimbabwe - OD Tour Match.

Zimbabwe won the toss and elected to bowl.

Notts - 200 for 0

V Holmes - 92*
S Moore - 90*

Zimbabwe - 160 all out

K Pringle - 43
S Chioza - 39

R Reid - 3/16 off 10
H Pollock - 3/40 off 10 (Debut)

Notts got off to a watchful start, but were fairly comfortable on a pitch that had been prepared for seamers. They upped the run rate at around 35 overs and even when in agressive mode, they were never troubled by the Zimbabwe bowlers. A fine effort from both batsmen as they batted 50 overs with V Holmes top scoring with 92*.

Zimbabwe got off to a flyer, losing there first wicket at 1/52. They never really recoverd, but a 50 partnership between Ewing and Pringle was the only other highlight in a pretty dire performance. The Zimbabweans then collapsed from 130/5 to 160 all out. Both Spinners Pollock and Reid taking 3 wickets apiece.

Notts win by 40 runs

MoM - V Holmes

Notts lost the toss and were put in to bat by Hants. Notts got off to a poor start losing Naylor for 9 in the second over. Hussey and Moore batted the remainder of the overs and put together a mammoth 185 partnership for the 2 Wicket. The scored far to slowly, and even though they picked up the Agression toward the end, they still only managed 194.

Notts got off to a good start and Both openers were dismissed within 9 overs to leave them 2/33, things looked good for notts. D Sales and U Afzaal managed to put 87 on for the 4th wicket and this took the game away from Notts, only something special now would win them the game. Reid and McMahon, who both usually dominate with the ball only managed to take 1 wicket between them, that was McMahon who got Sales on his 50. Ryan Sidebottom bowled well in his 10 overs taking 2-34 and Franks taking 2/40 off his 10. Notts dire OD performance continues.

Notts were put in the field by Leics. Early wickets from Sidebottom and Franks meant a set back to Leics as they were in full agressive mode from the outset. Reid and McMahon came on and 2 wickets and some very accurate bowling from Reid and McMahon kept the scoring down in the middle overs, Shreck came on at the Death and took a wicket and went for 2 runs in his 2 overs, Hussey also Bowled.

Notts got off to a shaky start as Naylor fell on the last ball of the 1st over to Masters for 6. Moore and Franks came in and put on a partnership of 69 for the 2nd wicket, with Franks top scoring with 48 from 49 balls, not bad from someone who usually bats at 9. Kempston and Hussey finished the game off with Intelligent running and singles.

Average attempt with the bat gave Durham a modest total to chase down.

The Notts bowlers got of to a decent start when Sidebottom dismissed Lewis for 2 and then Riddington for 13 in his next over. This left Notts in a good position but the chance to seal the win was not taken and Durham won off the last ball.

Notts won the toss and elected to bowl first. A decent effort from the middle overs bowlers Reid and Shreck to restrict the total to 143. Reid the pick of the bowlers, taking 1/16 off 4. Newman scored 56 from 50 balls at the top of the Yorkshire innings.

Notts got off to a poor start as Gallian edged behind for 5 off 10 balls. Franks soon followed for a quickfire 9. Kempston and Moore put together a partnership of 99 which took the game away from yorkshire. Kempston ended up with a fine 44 from 32 balls and Moore 63 from 50 including 9 4s.

This second win in 3 matches is the confidence boost Notts need, in a somewhat indifferent season.

The notts bowlers got off to a good start as Sidebottom dismissed Maddy for a Duck with his second ball. He then dismissed Ackerman at the end of the same over. Habib and Robinson managed a 49 partnership but both were dismissed in successive overs to the bowling of Franks and Shreck. Harker and Nixon then came to the crease and intellingent batting kept them together for 67 runs before Harker was trapped plum infront of the stumps. Nixon soon followed after edging to 2nd slip off the bowling of Pollock with a fine 42 from 37 balls. Reid bowled economically but without wickets. Pollock, Reids fellow spinner, managed 2 for 31 from his 4.

Notts got off to a poor start as Reid was dismissed for a quacker. Gallian and Franks then raced there way to 42-1 but Gallian edged behind for a relatively slow 18 from 21 balls. Franks and Kempston then put 36 on for the next wicket with Franks doing most of the scoring and was finally dismissed on 44 from 37 balls. Kempston and Hussey put on 58 for the next wicket with Hussey doing the bulk of the scoring with 43 from 27. Kempston was finally dismissed, swinging across the line, on 24. Cranshaw came in with 2 balls left and 2 runs needed. He played a beautifally timed on drive for 4 runs as Nott won by 6 wickets.

Yorks elected to bat first on a very good batting pitch. They got off to a good start and boundaries were coming in every over. Franks took the first wicket of the match, dismissing Vaughan LBW for 19. Newman and Lumb then constructed a mammoth 121 partnership. None of the Notts bowling could prevent the onslaught from the Yorkshire lads and a score of over 200 looked close. Reid came into the attack and bowled 2 economical overs before Newman edged ehind off his bowling. He also claimed the wicket of Townsend as he tried to hoik him to long on but wasn't good enough for Sidebottom who took a good catch in the deep. Ervine also grabbed 2 wicket in his 2 overs.

Gallian and Kempston got Notts off to a good start with a 65 partnership for the first wicket. Kempston was then bowled (somewhat comprehensively) by Follett for a fine 35 off 22. Gallian and Hussey kept up the good work with another 60+ partnership until the former was bowled by Kyle Hogg for an excellent 62 from 38 balls. Hussey and Cranshaw seen out the remaining overs and even had 10 balls to spare. The Notts batsmen composed themselves well in what was always looking to be a tough encounter.
