How do you find out how good players are?

I know averages, and 2nd team averages especially are useful for judging a players ability, but is there any way to find their actual stats (eg/ 43, 28 whatever)? I used the editor for 2002, but it doesn't work for this game.

I'm thinking Artmoney, but I don't know where to begin. I don't want to edit anything, I have a hard time judging which yough players to give first team time, and technique training to.
