Was this when you selected your side for the first time? If so then this is because the default side seems to be selected automatically. If you look at your squad, rather than your first XI and replace first XI with squad players, then you should be able to pick Naved-ul-Hasan and Goodwin and all other new players.
Kent for example have Paul Nixon and Mark Ealham in their default squad, but by swapping them with "squad" players, they do not re-appear in the Kent squad.

I also want to ask why cant we change the names of the teams except county teams
I tried to change Karachi Whites to Karachi Dolphins but when I run the game it crashes
Need help.pls

I'm pretty sure that's for the same reason you can't change International names - the game wants them to be there to load for England tours.

I have a similar problem as our Pakistani friend there as I cannot seem to be able to select the final three Somerset bowlers - they don't seem to come up when I scroll down to the remainder of the squad. Tried what you suggested and no luck.

The screenshot should show McLean, Munday or Suppiah at the bottom of the squad.

Jamie Cox should not be there. The easiest way to do it is to change every person in the default XI with somebody not selected. That will get rid of the ones not playing.

It's because changing players from teams, doesn't alter the default line up.

Once you switch them out, they will disappear.

Okay sorted it out now, got McLean into the side and have the option of selecting the other two. Cheers mate.

One little problem with Naved-ul-Hasan - batting at number three for Sussex?

No, he isn't.

KentLad put him as an all rounder with 33 batting ability.

Just a note, if you wish to edit an OS Player in a county team, take him out of the county team first, edit and put him back in after.

Otherwise all the contracts bugger up.

anybody tell me where to put the files as i have 5 folders sc1,sc2,sc3,etc with files of the same name.
have been playing for a few seasons though.
do i just replace them?

In the main folder. It'll only change player data at the start of a new game.
