2005 Database Idea Thread

Greg Blewett

School Boy/Girl Cricketer
Ok this thread is being made so you can voice your opinion over what should be changed in the 2005 database. Not things like the players history or whatver but what changes would you like to see implemented from the original database?

Such as someone being changed to an all-rounder/bowler/bat or somebody's abilities within the game changed to be better or worse or any errors with the original data so that I can fix them for the 2005 update.

Any and all ideas are welcome.

Andrew Symonds to an all-rounder.
Shoaib Malik to an all-rounder and batting stats increased.
Michael Papps added (can't remember him being on the game).
Kyle Mills to a bowler.
James Hildreth added to England and Somerset.
Increase in bowling stats for Chris Cairns.
Decreasing in batting stats for Kyle Mills.
Styris to RM rather than RFM.
Oram to RMF rather than RM.
Decreasing in batting skills for Simon Katich.

That's my five cents worth at this stage anyway.

isn't he a spinner is real life but the games say RM
Yeah i noticed that. Graham Smiths batting seems fine to me though.. I have him in my SA team and in the year 2013 he averages about 45 for me

He's managed some decent innings against my New Zealand side, I have to back up Blaze here and say that Smith's batting skill is adequate.

noticed three i disagree with but otherwise they are all very good suggestions..

*Giles' original batting rating is realistic
*Symonds should stay a batsman and not become an allrounder(because that's what he is IRL)
*Kyle Mills should stay an allrounder(even though his batting ability does need to be decreased)

also try and add suggestions in regards to aggressive/defensive levels, i.e:Gilchrist should be changed to very aggressive
i will try to list some if i find time

masterblaster

International Captain
Irfan Pathan Added
Dinesh Karthik Added
Mahendra Dhoni's batting stats increased and turned into Very Aggressive

Agreed with Michael Clarke and his batting
Cameron White's batting and bowling should be increased
Agreed with Stephen Harmison and Andrew Strauss

Ramnaresh Sarwan's aggression meter increased, his batting ability increased and make him a middle order player.

Chris Gayle changed into an opener
Wavell Hinds Changed into an opener

Agreed with Shoaib Malik
Add Umar Gul, Yasir Hameed, Shabbir Ahmed, Rana Naved Ul Hasan

Symonds is bowling alright at the moment and is capable of bowling fairly decent spells, so I would certainly change him to an all-rounder. If Kyle Mills is to remain an all-rounder for his batting, then Symonds should definately be one for his bowling anyway.

well if your trying to make an update as current as you possibly can then i suggest he stays a batsman

Symonds bowling in his last 54 ODI's(since 2002)
44 wickets@44.91, RPO:4.95

In his last 19 ODI's
12 wickets@53.33, RPO:5.16

sure he used to be an allrounder but ever since 2002/03 his bowling has declined about as much as his batting has improved

Symonds is definately an all-rounder. Every match, whether 4 day or 1 day he will have a bowl. He got 3 wickets last night against you Black caps so I guess that justifies the answer.
BTW - I have downloaded the update, and am playing with AUS. I had the best all-round individual performance i can think of, with Darren Lehmann, broke into the side for his first test of the summer, and produced a very productive 3/1 when bowling, off 4.1 overs. He then made an outstanding career best 205, and then got the last wicket of the match, taking his second inns bowling to 2/34. Pretty good effort. Is he really high on the attributes? should he be decreased? or is it a one off essential game, as he is a consistant batsmen, despite being dropped from the ODI side.

I played one match with Mills, and he made 74, but his bowling was ****e. I guess he is a bowler, but an All-Rounder is not out of the question.

Some more:

Brett Lee - Batting and Bowling decreased???
Adam Gilchrist - V Aggresive
Jason Gillespie - V Defenisve
Andrew Hall - Batting Increased / Defensive
Michael Clarke - Aggresive, Added to Hampshire
Brad Hodge - Bowling decreased, Added to Leicestershire

PS. Any chance of current players edited for non VIC and NSW players, ie. Put into other teams, ie. Only VIC, NSW and county AUS playrs get F/C Current stats, while SA, WA, TAS, QLD all get no extra F/C statistics during the summer. If anybody has anyideas how to fix this, it should be tried in the update. Cheers.

mills has a pretty respectable domestic batting record on supposedly the worst wickets in all first-class cricket and hasn't had many chances batting above 10 in internationals because of NZ's batting depth

Well those statistics make me think differently on the matter.

Still, Kyle Mills' batting statistics in the same time period wouldn't be pretty though.

According to that, look at the quantity instead of the quality, Find out how many overs he has bowled at.

Symonds did get 5/35 and then 6/49 in consecutive test matches for me, so maybe:

Symonds - Bowling decreased???

I think Chris Gayle should be increased bowling as well
Akash Chopra is bad in real life...
Isn't Tillakaratne Dilshan an all-rounder in real life?
Is Murray Goodwin available to play international cricket for Australia now?
