Shetland Islands County Cricket Club take on "financial assistance", the County Club in it's first year have gone into debt and have been granted permission from the ECB to play their next One Day match at Hampden Park and essentially a charity match. On 24th June 2003 visit Hampden Park for Shetland Islands vs Gloucestershire.

The Shetland Islands are yet to win a Norwich Union League match and only have the single List-A victory which came in the Super Cup.
Gloucestershire have won 3 matches and lost 2 in the One Day league this year and are in 4th. The Shetland Islands don't have their 1st choice Wicket-Keeper, Paul Dearman who averages 44 in First Class matches.
Well here comes the Shetland Islands team!

Sachin Tendulkar has lost the toss and will go in with London to open the innings.
We will give infomation about how the money is coming in after this first over.

It has been estimated that 1 Million Pounds would keep the Islands afloat(pardon the pun) all season.
Scotland Power will give £500 for every Shetland Run and £10000 for every Shetland Islands wicket.
ECB will give £100 per maiden and £100 per 4. Any 6 will give the player £1 and the fund £1000.
Cricket Web.net have given £5000 and will give £500 for every 50 and £1000 extra for every 100.
The ICC will match the grand fund.
The Wicket-Keepers have announced they will give £10 each per bye.
There are expected to be more donations through the match.
