On both occasions I've really steamrollered the league until late on, and then just capitulated and as all the opposition has been so strong I lose footing really fast (I think on the season with Chelsea I finished on 87 points, Spurs above me on goal difference also with 87, City with 88 and Utd with 89).

My cause wasn't helped by a load of injuries to key players, but the games I lost were stupid ones at home to crap teams, in which I hit the bar about 10 times or something. Very annoying. Will have another crack at it with a reinforced squad.

Wondering if the game really just hates me.
Dortmund - won the Bundesliga pretty easily, semi finals of the Cup (lost 4-1 to Schalke after resting lots of players) and quarters of the Champions League (lost 4-3 on aggregate to Man City)

Clyde - won the Scottish Third and Second Divisions in consecutive seasons at a canter, won the League Challenge Cup and am currently well on target for 3 consecutive titles.

Just setting into my traditional second half of the season slump with Tottenham. Had won a heap of games in a row and was very much in the title race before shipping 8 in 2 games to Man City & Liverpool. Even ****ing Andy Carroll scored.

Having another crack at Chelsea, into the second season now. Dominated the league until Christmas, was actually about 10 points ahead at one stage. But from the last 3 games of the year I managed 1 point and now hold onto top spot with a slender 1 point lead over Man Utd. Looking a bit precarious.

Liverpool failing badly though, at the end of Dec they are in 15th place after a dreadful run. Somehow Kenny hasn't been sacked yet.

Seem to draw game after game in the league but dominate in the other competitions. In mid October and my title ambitions are all but gone already. One shining light has been new signing Iker Muniain though, young player of the month for August and September and 6 league goals in 5 starts.

Was tempted to go for him as Chelsea, and tried to sign him on my Valencia game as well, but the asking price has always been too high for a player of his quality for me. Same with Hazard, keep being quoted £50million for him, no way in hell am I paying that. Have just had an offer of £17million accepted for Willian instead, ought to do the job.

What were the objectives for the season and how did you go in other competitions?

I find if you were anywhere near to achieving what was asked and you go to the board and ask for some more time you'll probably get lucky.

Objective was Europa Cup qualification which I missed out on by a place. What was annoying was that it was between me and Everton. They were 3 points ahead of me with 4 games left, with a GD advantage of 3. I beat them 4-1 next game to overturn this advantage before proceeding to obtain 2 points from my final 3 games.

Seriously, after 19 games I was 2 points off the top so reckon my second 19 was relegation form if extrapolated. Keeps happening as well, every season.

As for other comps, early exits from both domestic and first knockout round in Europe. Not good.

Just shut mine down for the night, pre-season fairly positive but I'm a bit drunk and that's when I start signing the SWA alumni

What annoys me is that when your objective for the season is "Challenge for the title", this actually means "Finish in the top 2". More often than not I suppose this is more or less the same thing, but in my last game when I was at the top of the table for most of the season, but finished in 4th place, but only 2 points behind the winners, I get a notice from the board saying how disappointed they are that the objective for the season was not met.

Had another instance of the game attempting to screw me over last night as well. Commentary read as follows:

"Cech gathers in the lose ball.

Cech handled the ball.

Cech was shown a straight red card!"

The newspaper headings read: "Chelsea goalkeeper sees red mist!". Must have been a particularly aggressive handball I suppose.

Was made more annoyed when I watched the highlight of the red card after the match. Put the 3D engine on especially. Showed Cech dive forward onto the lose ball around the penalty spot. But once on the deck....he began to slide sideways out of the area...until he was outside, and incurred the wrath of the referee. Bloody thing.

Was playing a two player game in Brazilian league a couple of weeks ago and my friends right back under no pressure whatsoever unleashed a stunning volley into the top corner of his own net, fantastic goal it must be said.

I've had my keeper catch a cross, wait until the box is clear then walk backwards with the ball in his handsinto his own net.

Have also had my keeper fumble a throuvh ball under no pressure then just stand staring in horror at the ball on the ground while the oppositio.'s striker nips in from 20 yards away and slot it into an empty net.

The best thing of this sort that has happened to me occurred when I was playing Championship Manager 4 as Barcelona. For some reason Saviola got sent off, and the commentary showed the inevitable "Saviola was furious with the referee", at the same time the 2D engine showed the referee running around in circles over and over again with the Saviola chasing after him.

I remember on CM01/02 whilst playing with Pothas we saw Zidane get an 8 month ban for headbutting a referee. Never seen anything like that on one of these games ever since.
