What a mess. And all to keep ~3 laps off an extra set of tyres in a race where you basically can't overtake.

f1 really needs to look at indycar, where as many as 10 drivers are championship material and the cars are even enough that there's plenty of over taking.

the no pitting under safety car rule needs to go but apart from that it's a rare beast - world class single seater racing with passing

tho f1s major pain is merc and ferrari calling the shots

Ferrari are the BCCI of motorsport. Every couple of years they threaten to take their toys and go home over something, and the FIA always end up backing down.

As for IndyCar, is definitely one of the best series in the world. Probably looking more forward to the Indy 500 than I am Monaco.

F1 is disappointing because of the domination of a couple of teams, one more than the other. with only Verstappen being able to compete with them form the rest. I think in only one race so far the season has the top not been Hamilton, Bottas, Le Clerc, Vettel and Verstappen because one of them did not finish. The difference in car quality far outweighs the difference in driver quality. It seems quite a few the drivers if they swapped their inferior cars for a seat in a Mercedes could win the championship although Hamilton might be able to make an inferior car more competitive.
F3 and F2 are far more entertaining because many drivers can and do win races and there is overtaking.

Albon replaces Gasley at Red Bull. Rapid rise for the young Thai driver.

Ricciardo is going to be pissed that a 1st year rookie will now beat him in his old car lol

RIP Anthonie Hubert, a brilliant young racer taken before his time. The actual F1 race was pretty good but I had an empty feeling knowing about the tragedy of the previous afternoon

You realize you’re basically describing every season of F1 history, right? It’s very rare that more than two teams have a consistent chance to win races throughout any given season.
