Haha I saw that. So random.

Meanwhile the claycourter has beaten Novak and Fed in consecutive hard court Masters 1000 tournaments and is undefeated on hard court this year.

He also suffered 3rd degree burns on his hands... that or he has the most painful match-winning celebration of all time:

Yeah, genius marketing though, get's the name talked about all over the World without actually doing anything.

They never remotely considered it IMHO.

Yep agreed. Intelligent stuff. Media bought into it hook, line and sinker.

and she's not even actually playing the Tournament, which she probably knew. Not bad publicity for when your not even going to hit a ball in anger

US Open started and could be set for first big shock already as Dan Evans is 2 sets up and a break up against number 11 seed Kei Nishikori. You would think the Brit was the seed and the Japanese the 179 ranked guy the way it has gone.

Laura Robson through in straight sets for us too. Radwanska and Li Na also easily through.

Disappointing from Kei Nishikori but good on Evans.

Evans takes another scalp. This is a pretty rare moment for British tennis recently, having two men in the third round (probably). Wonderful effort.

Henman and Rusedski would have done it a few times in the late 90s early 00s
