Cant expect much after Wimbledon, most of the top players probably wanted to rest, theres some big tournaments coming up in the next 4-5 weeks.
Would prefer them to give it to another country, then. No way the US needs so many tournaments - they have 13 of them as it is which is far too many. Watching the final of Houston a while back, and there was no one there.

Australian Brydan Klein officially suspended and fined a **** load for his racial slur last month.

Australian Junior tennis champion suspended over slur

Obviously has anger problems. Apparently pissed off Phillipousis during the qualifying stages of an Aust Open before. Showed him a "lack of respect"
Deserves it, too. Know people who played him as a junior, and this doesn't exactly surprise me.

What is it with Australia producing guys who have talent but are absolute headcases?

Some amazing Davis Cup results. Some close matches.

Croatia vs. USA and Czech vs. Spain quite interestingly poised.

Israel :-O

Ferrero replaces Robredo for the final rubber for Spain :)

Good stuff. Would hate it if Germany went through and Haas suddenly decided "oh, it's the world No. 200 on a hard court, I'm fit again".

Croatia could win it from here though.

Rajeev Ram becomes the first lucky loser to claim an ATP title. Decent week for him, as he also won the doubles with Jordan Kerr.
Only a lucky loser because he withdrew, though. Presume he'd realised he would be highest ranked loser anyway.

Båstad this week  Andreas Vinciguerra restarting his career with a win in three sets over Florent Serra. Faces Grigor Dimitrov or Daniel Gimeno Traver (who popped off Norway's hope, world No. 727 Erling Tveit, in final round of qualifying) in the second round.

Two Aussies into ATP/WTA semi finals this week. :D

Ball beats Isner to set up a semi with Mayer (who had a walkover against Fish). Makes Guccione's failure to convert one of his three match points against Mardy even more frustrating.

Meanwhile, Stosur plays the winner of Baroli-Jankovic after beating Serena. And just for Jono, Sererna served a double on match point.

Yeah I just read about that!

Needless to say I was shocked. Stosur does seem to trouble Serena it seems though.

Venus vs. Sharapova to start now. Should be an interesting battle.

Winner to play Dementieva.

Del Potro... so gun!

Stosur loses her final to Penetta in straight sets. She's doing all right recently though.

Watched the last three games of Stosur-Pennetta this morning. Stosur really was just outplayed towards the end, lots of errors and didn't capitalise - Pennetta made a great return from a smash to go 4-3 up.
