RIP Alfredo Di Stefano

The Sean

Cricketer Of The Year
Arguably the greatest - and almost certainly the most complete - all-round player the world game has ever produced has died in his spiritual home of Madrid aged 88. The only man to score in five European Cup finals, and it's fair to say he changed the way the game was played. RIP.

Englishman
Played internationals for three different countries but never, I think I'm right in saying, in a world cup.

His two muckers (Raymond Kopa and Ferenc Puskas) and he were the bedrock of what is in all likelihood the greatest club side ever.

Vale.

Sledger Snr tells me that as a lad he once saw Di Stefano play for Spain.

Not as good a finisher as Ronnie Moore apparently.

RIP.
