It makes sense that he'd go to Barca because they like their defenders to press high up the pitch but this past season he's just been far too **** for them. More errors leading to goals than any other player I heard. Arsenal coming good towards the end of the season when they sat a bit deeper and stayed compact could have convinced Wenger he wants a less pro-active defender and Williams is really quite good.

I'm not actually a big fan of Luiz's defending. It's just that he already gets a lot of flak for it but Vermaelen's similar issues have went under the radar a bit. It's also hard to criticise him at the moment because he's had such a good season.

Nah, he's had another nightmare season defensively, just awful, probably made less mistakes then TV, because he's not in that position any more.

Going around defending people because of general ignorance, is rather a thankless task, particularly in football.
