Gosh....if Arsenal can sign Sahin and maybe one defender....and keep RVP....hate to be optimistic because it always comes back to bite me...but it's beginning to look like a really good side that's being put together.
A team of Szczęsny, Sagna, Vermaelen, Koscielny, Gibbs, Song, Arteta, Wilshere, Cazorla, Podolski, Van Persie (more likely Giroud) is a pretty enjoyable prospect. Santos, Gervinho, Walcott, Ramsey, Rosicky, Chamberlain, Ryo, Mertesacker, Frimpong, Coquelin, Lansbury and Djourou (and possibly Sahin) are hardly terrible reserve/alternative options either (well, Mertesacker is pretty dire), and so for once it seems like there's a team here with quality and some depth. Really looking forward to seeing how it goes. |

Per isn't dire. For large periods of last year his partnership with Kos was better than the one you've listed (not suggesting we drop TV5 obv)

Speaking of which, who's got control of the league to renew it?

CPR was the last one, he was worse than me at updating. Well done for the double win, even though of course the important comp was the head-to-head, takes talent, energy ,sexiness and skill to win that one obvs.

For all the signings Arsenal make, if they can't sign a training staff that can teach how to defend set pieces and a fitness trainer that can stop every player in the team getting injured, they'll go nowhere.

We need to learn how to defend in general, but Cazorla should help up front.

Podolski is gash, honestly stick Theo up top and he'll really come good.

Alex Ferguson: "When somebody's paying €45m (£35.5m) for a 19-year-old boy you have to say the game's gone mad. I find it quite amazing." (Lucas Moura).
Same guy who bought an 18 year old Wayne Rooney for £30m 8 years ago.

He's also whinging about Arsenal digging their heels in over the Van Persie deal. Which is fairly ironic, as I recall he was rabidly determined not to let Gabriele Heinze join Liverpool a few years back, and deployed similar tactics.
Predictable and a bore. Last edited by sledger; 09-08-2012 at 01:06 PM. |

Also, lots of papers suggesting it would be a great idea for Arsenal to get shot of Alex Song. Further proof, if any was needed, that plenty of journalists don't actually watch football, let alone understand it.
