And since he was signed, Ferguson's transfer policy has been two fold when it comes to spending big money (£10m+)
1. Sign really talented young players (Ronaldo, Rooney, Nani, Anderson etc)
2. Sign proven Premiership performers (Ferdinand, Carrick, Tevez, Berbatov)
Ashley Young will be a good signing for the EPL, as he's clearly one of the most productive forwards in the league, and when you consider some of the fees for English players recently, £15m almost counts as a bargain. Whether Young's good enough to take United to where they want to be in Europe though is another matter.

Yes, but there's always a premium to pay when you're buying a player from a rival in the same league, because you're not only weakening your own side, you're allowing a rival to strengthen.Aren't Barcelona offering less than that for Fabregas?

So far this close season we've been linked with a heap of players. Enough to make a promotion challenging XI actually, the likes of Kay, Koumas, Latif.
Suffice to say our only actual signing is a left-back from the Welsh League whom we released two years ago (product of our youth system). Could be a long old season.
