Hargreaves cost nearly 20m didn't? Must have started less than 30 games in total for Man Utd. Though TBF he did well in the CL winning season and no one could have quite predicted the extent of his injuries.

Young is one of the biggest divers in the league, will fit in well at Man Utd. :p

And since he was signed, Ferguson's transfer policy has been two fold when it comes to spending big money (£10m+)

1. Sign really talented young players (Ronaldo, Rooney, Nani, Anderson etc)
2. Sign proven Premiership performers (Ferdinand, Carrick, Tevez, Berbatov)

Ashley Young will be a good signing for the EPL, as he's clearly one of the most productive forwards in the league, and when you consider some of the fees for English players recently, £15m almost counts as a bargain. Whether Young's good enough to take United to where they want to be in Europe though is another matter.

Wasn't Ferdinand signed before Veron?

Same close seaason actually, thinking about it

So De Gea's in Manchester being fondled and told to cough, by all reports.

Sneaky Twittery folk putting us with a big bid for Modric. Refuse to believe it until Michael Owen lets slip on twitter, again. He may be a 4th choice striker, but a first rate leak for the utd gossip.

Modric is incredible and I'd love to see him play for us so, so much, but I suspect we'll need to overpay pretty significantly to land the guy.

Aren't Barcelona offering less than that for Fabregas?
Yes, but there's always a premium to pay when you're buying a player from a rival in the same league, because you're not only weakening your own side, you're allowing a rival to strengthen.

None of Arsenal's rivals are getting stronger if Cesc goes to Barcelona.

So far this close season we've been linked with a heap of players. Enough to make a promotion challenging XI actually, the likes of Kay, Koumas, Latif.

Suffice to say our only actual signing is a left-back from the Welsh League whom we released two years ago (product of our youth system). Could be a long old season.

Now this is good news...

Guy is class if he stays fit, and stops disappearing into the cubicles in the Abbotsford. With Les saying he is aiming to play better football next season, he is just the man.

Just wanted to mention Mike Doyle's passing - us oldies will remember him from the 1970s and shudder at the thought of 64 being any sort of age to call it a day.
